A little about me…
It all began one fateful day in the Sunshine City, FL, when a young Shannon discovered the magical world of Disney Channel original movies.
From Camp Rock to Hannah Montana to the almighty: High School Musical, little Shannon was obsessed!
I begged my parents to get me a karaoke machine for my birthday and began putting on concerts in my living room, jumping on the sofa and belting out “The Best of Both Worlds.”
The oldest of 4 siblings and 10 cousins, I would write a script, print and color-code it, and enlist (force?) my cousins to put on shows for our family.
And to my family’s shock (They thought I was going to go to an Ivy and be a lawyer - Ha!),
I never lost the theatre bug.
Over the years, my love for theatre grew in depth and complexity. I began to see it as a powerful vessel for connection, questioning, release, and change.
I am particularly passionate about representing and uplifting the queer community and the body positivity movement. I know how much it would mean to little Shannon to see people who looked like her on stage, and I want to be that person for the next generation of curvy performers.
Contrary to popular belief, I do in fact have hobbies outside of theatre. I love to explore new hiking trails, read and write poetry, teach yoga/meditation, and spend time with the love of my life, my bunny Clover.
Here is my favorite poem and a photo of precious Clover, both of which I hope will brighten your day. :)
